About Counseling
Ariel Breen, LMHC, PsyD, CAP, NCC
Hi everyone, I am Ariel (the one on the left!). I want to thank you for checking out our Serenity Cottage and for getting to know us a little better. I am pictured here with one of my four legged friends, Jack. He is an Arabian gelding and is as sweet as can be! He is MY therapist. I am an avid animal lover and I love being a therapist. I am lucky to be able to combine my 2 GREAT loves and share with you my passion for helping others. I truly believe that we are all connected in many ways and that we can help each other heal. I would like to show you how to feel balanced, how to live a serene and vibrant life. There is abundance in the world for us, if we simplify our lives and gain balance and peace. I can show you how. I would love to meet you. Our cottage is a warm and comfy place where we can meet and take our shoes off and enjoy some special time. Some of our four legged therapists at the cottage are Serenity, the loving cat, Marina, the quirky French bulldog, and Brie, the sweet Shih tzu. Our equine team working at Rockin Horse Farm consists of EVERY kind of horse from miniature horse to full size Quarter Horses, Arabians, Appaloosas, Thoroughbreds and maybe a chicken or piggy too. There are lots of happy surprises at the farm. And of course well behaved pets are always welcome at the cottage. Come spend some time with us.
Paloma Sparrowhawk, LMHC
My name is Paloma SparrowHawk. I have been a licensed mental health counselor since 2002. I work with both children (ages 12 and older) and adults. I specialize in substance abuse and trauma-related issues, such as childhood abuse and neglect, post-traumatic stress disorder, and adult and childhood sexual abuse. I also enjoy working with persons with mood disorders, co-dependency issues, and have experience working with families and couples.. Primarily, I utilize brief, solution-focused therapies. I like these treatment modalities because the clients are able to move through their issues quickly and generally feel good about the choices they make. Since I develop rapport with clients rather quickly, I am able to begin the therapeutic process by the second session. I also am rather eclectic, utilizing many treatment strategies from many different types of therapies in order to tailor therapy to meet the client needs. I am warm, caring, genuine, and sincere. I believe that everyone has the capacity to change their lives. I believe that we are all teachers and students. I listen closely to what you are saying so that I can develop a better understanding of who you are and where you have been. I believe I can make a difference in your spiritual journey into self-discovery.
